Martha Illige, MD
Dr. Illige went to Pomona College and the University of California, San Diego Medical School before completing her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Colorado in 1980. She cares about the possibility of healing through the doctor-patient relationship, and promotes mother’s milk to improve community health. These interests led her from private practice back to a faculty position at Rose Family Medicine Center, where she appreciates her colleagues and the opportunity to develop in student-centered teaching and patient-centered family practice. Martha has two sons in college, two grown children, and five grandchildren.
Dr Illige was named the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians Teacher of the Year in 2005 and received the AAFP Exemplary Teaching Award in 2006.
