In Littleton, CO. born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days… Having been a native of CO and then transplanted all around the country during medical school, I worked very hard to get back home. And much like my fellow residents, choosing Rose for Family Medicine was a “no brain-er.” I was fortunate enough to spend time with several of the great programs here in Colorado and found Rose was the perfect fit for me. The faculty is amazing; they like to have fun and are very diverse. The Staff is great, my fellow residents (and residents in the past) are fun and friendly. The academics are strong and being a D.O., the opportunity for continued education and integration into practice is highly supported and encouraged here. The patients are a very educationally rich bunch, and if you ask anyone in town, you will see what great things they say when you say Rose.  Denver is a great place for being active, dining, and for entertainment. I love to watch the local sporting events, and to "live it up," taking advantage of the mountains and the surroundings.

Hi! I am a native Kansan, growing up in the Wichita suburb of Derby. I went to college at Harvard University, where I played football and enjoyed a few years of Fenway and the great city of Boston. I was ready to head back to the Midwest for medical school, and after traveling Europe and living in Lawrence, KS for a year I started at KU Med and got to spend a lot of time with my family and new niece and nephew. My girlfriend Tori and I love snowboarding, the mountains, and the weather in Denver, so we are excited to be here. I am hoping to do a sports medicine fellowship after residency, so the excellent sports medicine opportunities really attracted me to RFMR. After doing a Sub-I here, I also realized that the faculty and residents are laid-back, great teachers, and a lot of fun. I am a huge sports fan, and love golfing, hunting, fishing, and walking my yellow lab Morgan. Please email if you have any questions at all!

My family moved around quite a bit and I have therefore lived in Michigan, Massachusetts and Missouri. I went to college at Indiana University, where I majored in Biology and spent time in Madrid working on my Spanish. After graduation, I joined the Peace Corps and spent 2 years in the beautiful country of Namibia where I was a high school teacher.  Namibia inspired me to pursue two things in life- medicine and more traveling.  I have been fortunate enough to travel/volunteer/school in 11 countries in Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Costa Rica, and Ecuador.  I spent a couple of years upon my return living in the mountains of Colorado where I fell in love not only with this great state, but also my husband.  We headed back Missouri where I attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic medicine. Fortunately for us, we were selected to come back to Denver for my 3rd and 4th year clerkships and we never want to leave. The small, close knit community of Rose family medicine was the perfect choice for us.  We have two beautiful children and spent most of our free time looking for new hiking trails/camping spots in the summer and heading up to the ski hills in the winter.

Being a Colorado native, I desired to return home for residency and for future practice. I was inspired by the knowledge level and personal balance of Rose’s graduating seniors. The protected educational time and close-knit community were also appealing. Rose’s University affiliation has allowed me to rotate through Children’s hospital and Denver Health for OB, both top nationwide training facilities. My interests include women’s/children’s medicine, osteopathic manipulation, and rural medicine. Outside of residency, I enjoy gardening and dinner with friends and my large Italian family, as well as walks with my husband and two black labs.

Although born outside of Stockholm, Sweden, I spent most of my childhood in the seaside town of Madison, Connecticut. I attended Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. During my senior year in college, I met my husband, Matthew, and after graduation we lived in Portland, Oregon for one year where I worked in dental research. We then moved to Stockholm were I did a biomedical research program. Although I had finished my pre-med courses prior to graduating college, it was while taking part in the research program that I decided to pursue clinical medicine as opposed to laboratory research. I went back to Vermont for medical school and enjoyed not only a great education but access to lots of hiking and skiing. My husband was born and raised in Denver, and being close to his family in addition to the excellent Family Medicine programs in Colorado is what brought me here for Residency. I was attracted to the Rose Family Medicine program because it is community-hospital based with all the opportunities available at an academic medical center via its affiliation with the University of Colorado. I feel lucky to be part of the Rose Family Medicine program and am impressed daily by my knowledgeable colleagues and the excellent faculty!

I grew up in Sunny Southern California where I played baseball year round, surfed in the summer, and played in the mountains in the "winter." However, I moved to the icy Midwest where I quickly learned that baseball season was just a few weeks, "mountains" were actually garbage dumps with manmade snow on them, and you couldn't just drive home to escape the cold and snow. I went to Marquette University for undergraduate work, then University of Wisconsin - Madison for medical school, and now I'm here at Rose. I chose Rose because I wanted a community hospital with University influence where I would have access to many different options for my future. The family atmosphere at Rose and the attention that all the faculty give us as residents, and as colleagues, is great. My interests outside of medicine include baseball, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and spending time with my wife and newly born daughter, Charlotte.
