A Message from the
Program Director:
Welcome to the Rose Family Medicine Residency! Our program has been training
well-rounded specialists in family medicine for over 30 years. We take
pride in equipping physicians with the tools they need to provide exemplary care
in any environment. Our graduates have gone on to diverse locations (urban,
suburban, rural and international) and settings (underserved, academic, and
private practice) in Colorado and across the United States as they care for and
contribute to the lives of not only their patients but also the communities they
serve.
The residency is based at Rose Medical Center, a highly-respected community hospital in
the heart of Denver. The medical staff enjoys working with our residents and the
hospital administration is extremely supportive of our program. Rose Medical
Center helped build
our new Family Medicine Center in 2007, located in a building adjacent to the
hospital. The University of Colorado, which hosts a top academic department of
family medicine, administers the program and resident benefits. The Colorado
Health Foundation, a large non-profit organization dedicated to improving the
health of the people of Colorado, also supports us as a part of their
portfolio of clinical care and educational programs targeted towards
underserved, culturally diverse populations in Denver.
Every
day, I am amazed by the talents of the faculty and residents who give life to
our program. Our enthusiastic faculty are nationally recognized for teaching and
scholarship and share valued skills such as operative obstetrics. In addition,
we serve as an active teaching site for the University of Colorado Primary Care
Sports Medicine Fellowship. Residents and faculty are also active in organized
medicine at both the state and national levels. We are a diverse group committed
to the life-long journey of being excellent family physicians.
